WHO WE ARE
This hand painted ceramic pot pays tribute to Jazzie Collins (b 1958 – d 2013) an African American trans woman activist and community organizer for transgender rights, disability rights, and economic equality. Her activism spanned a decade and a wide variety of community organizations, boards, and initiatives focusing on fighting for the rights of minority communities.
These ceramic pots are hand painted and glazed here as part of our UCP Seguin Made initiative. These show the skill of people with developmental disabilities that are employed at Seguin Gardens & Giifts. Creating jobs for adults with disabilities provides not just employment, but increased independence and self-confidence as individuals learn new skills.
Your purchase allows our employees with disabilities to live more creative, meaningful and independent lives.
